[802SEC] Rulings by the chair on term limits
The following snippet is from the unapproved minutes of this morning's
EC meeting.
"Bob O'Hara asked for a formal interpretation of the P&P with regard to
the term limits of WG/TAG officers.
Paul ruled that the P&P with regard to term limits means that a chair
must have 75% approval of the members voting (Y/(Y+N)) to seek
reelection, if they have been in office for more than 8 years plus one
day.
Tony asked for an interpretation of the rule about the vice chair
seeking a chair position, with regard to the same term limits.
Paul ruled that the policy applies only to an office, individually,
i.e., time served in one office does not count against time served in
another office."
