[802SEC] EC Email ballot on Handovers between Broadcast Technologies Study Group

Dear EC members,


We could not conduct this Motion during the March EC meeting due to time
constraints. Paul has asked me to conduct the following email ballot.
This is a 10 day email ballot. The ballot closes 24 hours after the
sooner of when all eligible EC voting members have cast a ballot or


Motion: "Request the IEEE 802 EC to create an IEEE 802.21 Study Group to
address issues related to Handovers between Broadcast Technologies and
802 networks with the intent to create necessary PAR and 5 Criteria"

*          DVB is an emerging technology in Europe and elsewhere. There
are potential handover scenarios between DVB (and other broadcast
technologies) and IEEE technologies such as 802.16/802.11. DVB
Consortium has expressed interest in forming a liaison between IEEE and
DVB Consortia. Members from DVB Consortium to give a tutorial on this
topic to IEEE in July mtg.
