Re: [802SEC] +++ 10-day EC Email Ballot +++ Plenary Session Coffee Break Times

I'm voting against the motion for the same reasons already stated.

Shorter availability of beverage service constaining when I set break times for my group (especially the morning break) would interfere with my meeting efficiently. I have had no problem with people leaving for beverages interfering with my meeting.

Hi Geoff, Actually the complaint that stimulated this exercise applied to
both the coffee & tea service as well as the snacks so we are trying to
decide if we agree with that view or not. I am happy to take direction to
look at other alternatives once we have some sense of where the consensus
might lie. But the current motion stands and those who want long coffee and
short snacks should vote against the current motion. We can always take
another motion or straw poll at the EC on Friday after WG chairs have had a
chance to collect the sentiments in their individual working groups.
:-)

Thanx, Buzz

Break Times

Buzz-

I believe that you are confusing the issue.
As has been said by several others, coffee and tea (important to me) are
not the issues that drive disorder.
It is the snacks.
Frankly (as I have said all along) I think that allowing break snacks to
become and entitlement was and is a bad idea.
Given that my view is unlikely to sway the group then the windows for
(especially premium) snack availability should be restricted and more
carefully coordinated with the WG chairs.

Caffein should be more broadly available in acknowledgment that much of
the business we conduct is less than of sparkling interest and many need
continuous infusion for their participation.

EC motions should not be required. This is operational/management stuff
not rules or orders
