[802SEC] +++email ballot to disband 802.2+++closes 15AUG2010+++final tally

Dear EC members,

The final tally of the ballot closed 15AUG2010 was unanimous approval 16/0/0/0.

The IEEE 802.2 LLC Working Gorup is now in the DISBANDED state. James Gilb, please update the 802 website as appropriate to reflect this change.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to 802 volunteer Hal Keen, who served as the official 802.2 WG contact and has maintained the 802.2 web page since the WG entered the hibernation state (over 10 years now, I believe). Thank you Hal.

Regards,

--Paul

Dear EC members,

As per our discussion at the closing EC meeting of the March plenary
session, this email begins a 30 day ballot to resolve the question:

Should the 802.2 WG is to be disbanded?

The ballot closes 15AUG2010.

Regards,

--Paul

5.1.3.2 Disbanding a WG

After all standards, recommended practices, and Technical Reports for which
a hibernating WG is responsible are withdrawn or transferred to another
group or groups, a Sponsor electronic ballot of 30 days minimum duration
shall be conducted to determine whether the hibernating WG is to be
disbanded.

If the Sponsor electronic ballot on disbanding the group passes, the WG is
disbanded. If the ballot fails, then the Sponsor Chair shall determine a
future date when the disbanding of the group may be reballoted.
