[802SEC] CFI meeting fees
I want to respond to a couple of things that were said during the debate.
Responding to people's concerns about CFI notice: IEEE 802.3 has a strictly applied rule that requires CFIs to be announced with 30 days notice - this isn't something that is just announced on Monday at the Plenary.
Responding to the comment about having had a meeting where an expert wasn't able to participate due to the fee: While it should be used sparingly, there is a process for getting a fee waiver for an expert to be able to participate.
I'm not in favor of a reduced fee for CFI participants. It sends the wrong message and encourages behavior that is not productive.
