Re: [802SEC] Response to Commentors on 802.15 KMP PAR

A yes is the logical answer then. Thanks

If your answer is "maybe" then you should say yes.
The result is:
- You get brownie points for doing the right thing.
- Your draft gets reviewed by someone on the RAC to make sure any registration issues are covered correctly.

Go the other way, the possible results
- If you don't need a RAC review no harm done.
- If you do need a RAC review, you might not get one.
- If it is discovered that you need a RAC review by someone else.
- You get a black eye for screwing up.
- Your project may get delayed because of the late in the process discovery of the need for a RAC review.

The answer we really wanted is maybe. The Recommended Practice could be implemented either way depending on trade-offs. I am inferring your counsel is to include it as a yes even though we may not use it and if so are there any issues of saying yes but then not needing it?

Thanks

Bob -

The .15 response to 802.1's comments clearly indicates that the WG is aware
of possible registration activity, yet the revised draft PAR text answers
question 6.1b with "No". Please fix this - the right answer is, by your own
WG's admission, "Yes". The PAR form will also require an explanation to be
entered.
