[802SEC] Liaison from WP5D in regard to frequency sharing in the range 470 - above 6 GHz

Dear EC.

Please find attached a liaison from ITU-R WP5D. The title is “PARAMETERS FOR LTE-ADVANCED AND WIRELESSMAN ADVANCED FOR USE IN SHARING STUDIES”.

On the surface this would appear to be a document of greatest interest to IEEE 802.16. However, due to the frequency ranges being examined it may be of interest to other wireless groups.

Note that in Part 2 the liaison says:

“WP 5D is seeking the information relevant to “suitable frequency ranges” being considered under AI 1.1. The “suitable frequency ranges” proposed in contributions to WP 5D to date extend from 470 MHz to above 6 GHz, including the bands listed in Table 1 of Report ITU-R M.2039-2 or frequency ranges adjacent to them.”

Therefor I would suggest that all wireless WGs take a look at this liaison and to determine if a response from WGs other than 802.16 is appropriate. Report ITU-R M.2039-2 has been posted to the IEEE 802.18 Mentor web site as 18-12-0077.

The response dates to ITU-R WP5D for this liaison are:

Response to Part 1: 26 September 2012 at 16:00 UTC

Response to Part 2 and any needed updates to Part 1: 3 July 2013 at 16:00 UTC

Looking forward to seeing all concerned in 802.18.

Regards,

Mike
