Re: [802SEC] Volunteers to help update RFC 4441

Pat,

I'm interested. Do you have a sense of the time frame? Perhaps by the March joint meeting? Or is that too late?

We need an author team to work on an update. The existing document deals mainly with the few items that were of concern in that simpler time such as MIB development and getting number assignments.

The new document should be a brief primer to folks in both groups on effective ways to interact with the other group on projects of joint interest including items such as explaining how projects start in each group, how to get access to documents, etc.

I’ll work on it and the IETF is providing some authors for their material. I’d like another EC member or two to volunteer to help with documenting the IEEE 802 side of things.

Pat
