Subject: Get IEEE 802 Agreeement

Dear all,

Per instruction from Paul, I am sending the following with the request for time at the IEEE 802 Task Force meeting to re-craft and re-approve the Get IEEE 802 Standards Agreement.

Although the IEEE 802 EC approved the Get Program agreement in early October, when the Agreement was presented to the Managing Director of the IEEE-SA, a change was requested (to insert a specific time frame for the Agreement). Further, on the topic of making the Get IEEE 802 Agreement publicly available the SA has been advised to honor the IEEE Policies (9.24)  that outline the categories of information that "shall be kept confidential." This includes "budgetary and pricing information whose disclosure can affect IEEE competitive positions or finances." With this, the Get Program agreement cannot be made publicly available. Noted below are options to share the information about the Agreement. To help promote the contribution that the IEEE 802 community makes to the program (the no charge availability of the IEEE 802 standards and the promulgation of IEEE 802 standards on a global scale) the SA team can develop the PPT and/or a create a awareness piece promoting the value of the contribution/the impact.

1) Creating a presentation with the information

2) Restructuring the agreement to separate the financial information in an appendix so that it could easily be removed if we wanted to allow posting of the remainder of the agreement.

3) For the executive committee, we could allow secure access by the financial oversight group under nondisclosure.

Best regards. See you in Dallas.

Karen
