[802SEC] Fwd: The AIDC industry mourns the passing of a long time leader - Craig Harmon

I am sad to report yet another untimely loss in our community. I know many of you knew and worked with Craig. We did a lot with him on the RFID stuff in particular in the 802.15 space.

Dear Bob:

Could you disseminate the following information to those in IEEE 802.15 that you know of that were involved in projects with Craig?

The AIDC industry mourns the passing of a long time leader.

Craig Kenneth Harmon, 67, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids of a sudden heart attack.

Craig was instrumental in many bar code and RFID industry standards, leading the development of several international standards. He was the author of a definitive work on bar codes, "Reading Between The Lines". He was also recognized for his work in the industry as the recipient of the Association for Automatic Identification and Mobility (AIM) Richard R. Dilling Award and as a member of the AIDC 100.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. There will be a private family funeral service on Thursday, July 10, 2014, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens in Cedar Falls. Flowers or Memorials to the family can be sent to Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, 1825 W. 12th Street, Cedar Falls, 50613 (phone) 319/266-7525. Condolences may be left at
