I think Tuesday might be better as the time slot available on Monday is the last tutorial – quite late and not the best time for debating.

At this point, I would think Monday or Tuesday evening would be best.  And Monday would be better so as to educate other WGs about the discussion such that they can make informed PAR comments before the Tuesday deadline.

We would then discuss in 802.1 on Wednesday anyway, as John suggests.

Cheers,

Glenn.

As this is a subject in 802.1's area of expertise, It would be good if this could be held during the 802.1 joint technical session on Wednesday.

Adrian,

That is an excellent suggestion, yes I will add it to the opening EC meeting agenda.

The difficult part will be finding a free time-slot for the discussion.  We have a couple potential free time slots for joint technical discussion on this topic that are currently unoccupied; Monday late evening after the 2nd tutorial or Tuesday evening after WG meetings.  There may be other suggestions, I welcome them.  It would be great if we can converge on identifying a mutually acceptable time slot before the plenary.

Subject: [802SEC] Request agenda item for opening 802 EC

Hello Paul,

I would like to request an agenda item for the opening 802 EC.

The item is to identify a forum where the technical assumptions underlying the 802c PAR can be debated.

The issue here is that what appear to be the proposals underlying 802c achieve its goals,  but may limit

our ability to address privacy issues in 802.11.

There has been extensive email between Pat T & Bob G on one side of this argument and Dan H et al on the

other.  I’d like to see more folks brought into what needs to be a technical discussion.

I’m happy to offer time in the 802.11 Wed plenary for this purpose,  but that is probably the wrong

thing to do – we need this to be an 802 initiative to get all the right people in the room,  IMHO.

Best Regards,

Adrian P STEPHENS
