Re: [802SEC] Study Group extensions when forwarding a PAR

Jon

We discussed this before. The consent agenda is not necessarily appropriate as the PAR may not be approved for forwarding. In that case, it may be appropriate to discuss the status of the study group in more depth.

The correct way, most likely, is to put into the Chair's guideline a suggested motion format that includes ", and extend the xyz Study Group" and if the motion is approved, then we are done and we can skip the SG approval later in the agenda.

We could adopt a policy that in this case the SG extension is put on the

right now we do that for the first extension, we could just say that we do
that for 1st extension and conditionally for SG with a PAR being sent
NesCom as well.
FWIW,
Jon

  Dear Colleagues,

I think we should make it a chair’s guideline or OM addition that we
automatically extend the study group when we sent a PAR to RevCom because
just about every meeting we have motions to extend study groups because a
PAR won’t be approved by the interim or in case a PAR isn’t approved by the
SASB.
