Re: [802SEC] IEEE-SA Fellowship program at IEEE 802 plenary

Dear All:

Attached please find the draft agenda for tomorrow's Fellowship Program session on "Introduction to IEEE 802", being held from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm in the Windsor Room (3rd floor) of the Hyatt Regency.

If you have any slides about your working groups that you would like Constance to present, please send these to her directly.  Or, you may use your computer to present your slides.  Because of time considerations, I kindly request that there be no more than two slides per working group.

I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

Best regards,

Colleagues,

We will be holding our third IEEE-SA Fellowship program at the IEEE 802 plenary in March and have confirmed three individuals for the program (two are pending awaiting visas).  As soon as we have confirmed all participants, their bios will be provided:

·  Al-Ansari M. Al-Mashagbah

o Vice-Chairman, Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC), Jordan

o Areas of Interest – IEEE 802.18, IEEE 802.19, IEEE 802.22, IEEE 802.24

·  Afşin Büyükbaş

o Head, Spectrum Management Department, Information and Communication Technologies Regulatory Authority of Turkey

o Areas of Interest – IEEE 802.11, IEEE 802.18, IEEE 802.22, IEEE 802.24

·  Orhan Öğe (accompanying Afşin)

o Executive Board Member, Information and Communication Technologies Regulatory Authority of Turkey

·  Ramy Ahmed Fathy

o Director, Digital Services Policies & Planning, Egyptian National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), Egypt

o Areas of Interest – IEEE 802.11, IEEE 802.15, IEEE 802.24

·  Participant to be confirmed

o Technical Advisor, Ministry of ICT and Innovations (MINICT), Rwanda

o Areas of Interest – IEEE 802.1, IEEE 802.11, IEEE 802.15

·  Participant to be confirmed

o Standards Officer, Tanzania Bureau of Standards

o Areas of Interest – IEEE 802.11

As in March 2018, most of these participants are policy makers/regulators, with the exception of the participant from Tanzania.  The program will begin on Sunday, March 10th with an "Introduction to IEEE 802" from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm.  At this session, the fellows will be asked to introduce themselves, including describing their role in their organization.  We will then give an overview of IEEE 802.

I would like to ask if each Working Group Chair (or their designee) could give a brief overview of your working group and current activities.  The time slot is a maximum of five minutes and, if you would like to use slides, a maximum of two slides (if you want to use slides).

All members of the EC are invited to attend this session, but if you do not have a clear role for this session, please do not feel that you are required to attend.  Please note that, as these participants are government employees, no food or beverage will be served during this meeting.

Please confirm to Jodi if you (or your designee) will participate in this session.

Cheers,

Glenn.
