[802SEC] July 2020 plenary session -- meeting announcement

Dear EC Members,

After reviewing the results* of the 4 June 2020 motion made by the LMSC 2nd Vice Chair to enable holding the July 2020 plenary session and in consultation with the LMSC 1st Vice Chair, I have decided to announce the holding of Sponsor meetings under Section 6.0 Meetings of the LMSC P&P** on 10 July 2020 1-3pm EDT (the opening plenary meeting) and on 24 July 2020 1-5pm EDT (the closing plenary meeting) to enable the Working Groups, Technical Advisory Groups and Executive Committee to conduct of business and progress the work of the IEEE 802 LMSC as a result of the exceptional conditions that prevent us from meeting in person this July.

This announcement meets the 30 notice requirement.

My intent is to allow LMSC to conduct a similar amount of business as would normally have be conducted during a typical face to face  July plenary session, but to do so virtually and to stretch it out over the 10 to 24 July time period to relieve the need for day long virtual meetings.  WGs and TAGs are expected to schedule meetings required to gain attendance credit across the 10-24 July period.

James Gilb is preparing a motion to enable the necessary policy changes, along with a more detailed explanation of the changes and their impact.   I hope to see the motion issued in the next day or so.

Regards,

--Paul
