G’day all I was unable to attend today’s call but have a question and a suggestion The question Was there any discussion about the definition of “significant portion of the attendees”? The suggestion There seems to have been some discussion about when it is unreasonable for a person to attend F2F. Various criteria could be defined, including Beth’s suggestion that a requirement for 4+ days of quarantine would make
travel unreasonable. I would agree with that as one criteria Many/many countries provide travel advice to various destinations on a four level scale:
Historically, IEEE 802 destinations have been rated level 1 & 2 by all sensible governments. I would suggest that we consider it unreasonable to ask anyone to travel to a destination that is rated
level 3 or 4 by any relatively sensible governments. For fun, I looked up the advice for travel to the US from

in person and remote participants. If remote participation is optional, the remote participant may not have an equivalent experience to an in person participant.

In our discussions, the questions were asked, how do we determine travel restrictions of individuals. I could see using something such as

The next meeting for further refinement of the Mixed Mode Session Best Practices draft is scheduled for 16:00-17:00 ET Tuesday 24 August 2021. Your homework
assignment prior to that meeting is to draft and share what you consider the core principles for Mixed Mode Sessions should be via this 802 EC reflector. Non-real time exchange and consensus building via the reflector will make next week's call more productive.
