Dear colleagues,

With this email I would like to announce the start of a LMSC ballot on a draft response to the European Commission Radio Spectrum Policy Group (RSPG)’s consultation “Work Programme for 2024 and beyond”.

Paul has delegated to me to conduct a LMSC (EC) 10-day electronic ballot on the motion below to approve the comments to the administration.  This EC motion is per IEEE 802 OM 7.2.1 Procedure, P&P 7.1 b) (majority response) and P&P 7.1.2 (2/3 approval of votes cast) for communication with government bodies and public statements.  With that we would like to see everyone respond.

Subject: +++ EC review +++ a draft IEEE 802 LMSC submission to EU Radio Spectrum Policy Group's consultation on its work programme for 2024 and beyond
To: STDS-802-SEC@LISTSERV.IEEE.ORG <STDS-802-SEC@listserv.ieee.org>

Dear EC members,

I would like to request the review of the following draft IEEE 802 LMSC submission by Sunday, 10 December 2023, A.O.E, before asking the EC to consider approval of the submission through a 10-day letter ballot.

Recently, the European Commission Radio Spectrum Policy Group (RSPG) began a consultation “Work programme for 2024 and beyond”, which asks for public opinions on the proposed work items and the respective scope of works.

A few individuals prepared a response that asked the administration to consider additional scopes of a work item "Long-term vision for the upper 6 GHz band (2030 and beyond)".  The submission was reviewed and approved by IEEE 802.18 earlier today (7 December 2023) with the following voting results:  9 Yes, 0 No, 4 Abstain.

Thanks and Regards,
Edward
