I thought Keith's presentation pointed this out very clearly. Keith implied that 802.1 will have useful work to do in the area of "mapping" between the two schemes. I agree. My impression from the presentation given to 802.1 by 802.10 was that 802.10 was NOT particularly suited to VLAN tagging, and that 802.1 would investigate the issue further in order to determine what the best solution was. I'm surprised to read that the issue of modifying SDE came up at the exec.
