Background

AMbient Power (AMP) is a new TIG/SG within the IEEE 802.11 working group that will address the problem of support of Ambient Power communication in 802.11 network.

Goals

The goal of the AMP TIG is to complete a technical report on AMP communication in 802.11 network which was completed at the March 2023 session. The goal of the AMP SG is to develop a PAR/CSD to define the sope and other requirments for the standardization of AMP communication in 802.11 network.

It is felt that this will not only help users within home, enterprise and public access markets, but also assist manufacturers and operators to provide common components and services for IEEE 802.11 customers.
