[STDS-802-11-CAC] Notes from CAC telecon

CAC2 Telecon

1.       Reply to FCC 15-47

a.       EC wanted to make changes to the document to create a more balanced 802 view

b.      An EC motion to approve the unmodified 802.11 document failed.

c.       Review LMSC OM at this point.

d.      Rich will bring a modified version of 11-15/683, which is explicitly an 802.11 position, and this will be motioned on the Monday WG plenary.

e.      Will perform a prior EC review conditional on the WG approval of the document as reviewed.

2.       3GPP liaison about workshop in Beijing on LAA

a.       802.19 has been tasked by EC chair to make a presentation

3.       “Anniversary” press release and IEEE-SA marketing activities

a.       The announced demise of the PUB SC was premature.  It will meet in its Thu am1 slot.

4.       NGMN panel session is delayed until all the interested parties are available

a.       Target the Dallas meeting

5.       Pending actions:

a.       Adrian: Notification of NM session

b.      Jon: Send new agenda running order for logistics

                                                               i.      Alternatively,  send Adrian the draft report

6.       Dorothy will handle snapshot chasing by email.

7.       TGay Chair recommendation is Wed am1

a.       Process slides will be reviewed in CAC on Sunday

b.      Adrian to be present in TGay

c.       Will have updated slides for “TGay” section of “what is 802.11 doing?”.

                                                               i.      Will talk about this in Sunday CAC

8.       NGP:   Gabor not present as secretary

a.       Might want to change the PAR & 5C to include security aspects.

b.      Wed WG plenary needs to approve any updated PAR & CSD.

c.       Action:  briefing deck for EC.

9.       Jon:  various documents owed.  EC decided on social.  Hard part is higher demand on number of rooms.  802.11 keeps a reasonable demand.

10.   Joseph:  3GPP workshop in Beijing very convenient for them.

11.   Marc E:

a.       35 comments received on 802.11ai.

b.      Have a preliminary version of a report asking for Conditional approval.

c.       Action:  Send to Adrian for review.

12.   Stephen:  there will be an 802 NM session

13.   Clint:

a.       1 presentation in WNG

b.      + possible presentation from Tim Godfrey

c.       + possible 1 more

14.   Rich:

a.       Is at ETSI BRAN looking at receiver requirements and other odd things in 2.4 GHz

b.      Will have an interesting report

c.       Action: provide the “802.11-specific” version

d.      Action: bring a personal motion on Monday with an explanatory preso

15.   Room changes:

a.       + Tue eve TGak

b.      Action:  Jon

16.   Not present for Sunday CAC

a.       Mark H: Late
