Hi Minho,

Thanks for your question. Yes, we think AP-based reference signal is a potential solution for the problem.  We also agree that allowing WUR STA’s WU radio to wake up a little earlier and keep awake a little bit longer might be necessary to solve the problem.  Based on TSF type of information, WUR STA can estimate how much earlier is needed.

However, since the primary radio may keep sleep for a long time and timing mismatch will keep increasing with the time. After a long time, WUR radio may need to wake up too long if there is no reference signal from the AP.

Thanks.

Tianyu

Hi Tianyu,

Thanks a lot for today’s presentation.

I understand you’re considering potential introduction of AP-based reference signal to solve the problem which you raised today. Am I right?

If it’s the case, what could be its major advantage over an 802.11ah-defined very simple method to handle the similar time-mismatch problem, that is, allowing STA to wake up a little earlier by reflecting the timing sync. mismatch (making use of TSF-Timer Accuracy Element for this purpose)?

Best Regards,

Minho
