Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBE] 答复: [STDS-802-11-TGBE] Candidate SFD text contributions for inclusion to TGbe SFD: Call for Review [REMINDER]

Hi Yunbo,

Thank for your email.

The examples you provided are the cases where the frame sequences were nicely aligned – i.e., the BAR/BA occurred after transmissions on both links have ended.

However, in reality, the order in which the MPDUs are transmitted depends on several factors including channel conditions.

For your example 1, it is possible that the 1st A-MPDU on link 2 is still being transmitted while the 1st link receives a BAR.

In this case, let us assume that MPDUs 11-15 are transmitted on link 2 and all of them are successfully received by the other side.

Therefore, the BA1 will say 1-15 all 1s and 16-20 are all 0s. This assumes the STAs on the Rx-side have instantaneous knowledge of the state of the other STA.

In the meantime, the transmitting STA on link 2 has finished transmitting the rest of the MPDUs (16-20) and they are successfully received.

However, the BA1 has already indicated failure of those MPDUs. This will result in unnecessary retransmission of MPDUs 16-20.

The scenario I described above is a simplified case and one of many where cross-link receive status may not work.

There are other factor at play – such as the speed with which the Rx status on STA is reflected at another STA of the same MLD.

Regards,
Abhi

Hi Abhi,

I have a concern about your Straw Poll #5. As I mentioned during the your presentation. I am not intend to against the straw poll, but several scenarios are not covered by current SP text. So would you link to merge with my pending straw poll 1 in doc 11-20/0432r2?

https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/20/11-20-0432-02-00be-bug-fix-for-acknowledgement-rule-in-multi-link.pptx

Below is an example:

Straw poll #5

802.11be shall define mechanism for multi-link operation that enables the following:

A STA of a recipient MLD shall provide receive status for MPDUs received on the link that it is operating on if a BA response is needed, and the SN of the MSDU or A-MSDU is larger or equal to SSN in BA frame and may provide (if available) information on successful reception of MPDUs received by another STA of that MLD

I attach my previous call-for-comment email below to provide more information.

Regards,

Yunbo

Hello all,

Our TGbe Editor has prepared the Rev 26 of the compendium of SPs and potential changes to the SFD, which can be found below:

This is a call for members to review the new SFD text contributions (which are highlighted in yellow  and identified by tags listed as [DCN (Presentation, Author, Affiliation), ...] SP#X, ...) in the compenidum of SPs document.

Please do send an e-mail in response to this Call For Review if you would like to identify any of these "new SFD text contributions" as contributions that need further discussion. The deadline for sending these e-mails is June 10th 2020 @10:00am ET.

A list of these requested contributions will be queued for discussion and run as a separate motion (Motions >=113) during the Joint conference call scheduled on June 11th 2020.

New SFD text contributions that have not received a request for further discussions will be part of the cumulative motion (Motion 112) that will be run at the same Joint conference call.

Please refer to the document linked below for a list of the motions:

For more information please refer to the subclause "Guideline-Building Consensus and Populating the TGbe SFD" in the TGbe teleconference agendas: https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/20/11-20-0735-15-00be-2020-mar-may-tgbe-teleconference-agendas.docx.

If you have any comments and/or questions please let me know.

Best Regards,

Alfred
