Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBE] [EXT] RE: [STDS-802-11-TGBE] PDT-PHY-Mathematical description of signals

Hi Ron

Please refer to the link below for the reason of allowing deboosting the pre-HE portion. Although the tone plan change improves the situation, deboosting may still be required for the case that pre-EHT is 20MHz and EHT is narrower (e.g. 2MHz) and the EHT TB PPDU is in the band edge. This is useful especially for the laptop STA that can transmit with higher power.

Hi Yan,

Thanks for the responses.  On item 1) I’m forgetting the reason/need for it in 11ax, if it has to do with tone plan that was changed in 11be we may not need it. Suggest to discuss this a bit more explicitly then? (meaning not sure we should include it even in yellow?)

Thanks,

Ron

Hi Ron,

  Thanks for reviewing the draft.

  1. I can highlight the power deboosting factor for EHT TB PPDU for now.
  1.  is used in on page 7,                 (34-3.9-12)
  1. I will fix the tone index.

Thanks

Yan

Hi Yan,

A few more comments:

34.3.9.3

power deboosting of preamble ([1/sqrt(2), 1] scaling factor) is copied from 11ax. Perhaps highlighted in yellow for now?

34.3.9.3

8

Omega_20MHz and its cardinality defined but not used in this section, preferable to be defined when used (for punctured preamble fields)

34.3.9.3

9

Gamma definition for 320 MHz (eq. 34-3.9-13) uses HE/EHT tone indices (up to 4096 tones for 320 MHz), since this applies to pre-EHT fields its should use legacy tone indices (1024 tones per 320 MHz BW)?

Thanks,

Ron

Hi Sigurd, Tianyu, Alfred,

Could you please add DCN 1337r2 to the PHY agenda? The link is  https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/20/11-20-1337-01-00be-pdt-phy-mathematical-description-of-signals.docx.

Thanks

Yan
