Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBE] PDT PHY: MU-MIMO

Hi all,

Based on some offline feedback received (Thanks Ron!), I have uploaded a fresh version of the PDT on MU-MIMO. The link to that document is below.

https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/20/11-20-1160-05-00be-pdt-phy-mu-mimo.docx

The only non-editorial  change is the addition of the below text:

The max total number of space-time streams (across all users) that is supported for the reception of an EHT MU PPDU is indicated by TBD field in EHT PHY capabilities.

Please let me know if you have any comments.

Thanks,

Sameer

Hi Sameer,

Two more comments:

  • Sub-clause 34.3.3.1.2:
    • Mandatory MUMIMO support for "full BW" - full BW doesn’t include punctured cases correct? support for punctured cases is TBD
  • Sub-clause 34.3.3.2.4:
    • It is mandated that non-AP STA that participates in UL MUMIMO shall support "number of total spatial streams (summed over all users) is less than or equal to 16." I think this has not been decided yet. Also 16ss is R2, so it cannot be mandated for R1 STAs.

Thanks,

Ron

Sameer,

Many thanks for the info of  “there is no SU PPDU in 11be”

I will keep reviewing rest of the document.

Thanks

Aiguo

Thanks Aiguo for your review.

The first point is a good one. I will make some changes to incorporate it.

Regarding the second point, there is no SU PPDU in 11be, and hence I used the term “EHT MU PPDU that is sent to that STA as an SU transmission”.

Regards,

Sameer
