[STDS-802-11-TGBF] 答复: Discussion on measurement setup terminate frame format

Hi Naren,

Thanks for your comments.

It is applicable if we merge all the indications into one field, but we still need three bits, for example, terminate all measurement setups (both TB and non-TB).

In your proposed table, we can not terminate all TB + all non-TB measurement setups.

Since we still need three bits, it is better and clearer to keep the three bits as different functions/indications.

Please let me know if you have further comments.

Best regards,

Pei

Hi Pei,

Thank you for sharing the discussion.

Since you already have a TB/non-TB Measurement setup ID field, I think it is sufficient to keep just 1 bit for Terminate ALL? One bit can represent two values/actions. Like the table shown below, for example.

What do you think?

Terminate All

TB/N-TB measurement setup

Action

0

0

Terminate 1 setup for N-TB.

0

1

Terminate 1 setup for TB.

1

0

Terminate ALL setup for N-TB.

1

1

Terminate ALL setup for TB.

Thanks,

Naren

Hi Xiandong,

Thanks for your comment.

Yes, of course the two bits can be used for terminate one measurement setup either for TB or Non-TB. For example:

If you want to terminate one measurement setup for TB, you can set terminate All NTB = 0, terminate All TB = 0, TB/non-TB measurement setup ID = 0, and include the measurement setup ID to be terminated.

If you want to terminate one measurement setup for Non-TB, you can set terminate All NTB = 0, terminate All TB = 0, TB/non-TB measurement setup ID = 1, and include the measurement setup ID to be terminated.

Best regards,

Pei

Hi Pei,

Thanks for initiate this tread, I want to clarify, besides the two bits are used to terminate all TB or all Non-TB, could the two bits be used for terminate one sensing setup either for TB or Non-TB.

Regards

Xiandong

Hi Cheng and other members who care about this topic,

As suggested by Ali, we may have “Terminate All” include two bits: terminate All NTB, terminate All TB. The reason is that additional 1 bit (small overhead) can provide selectivity as the use case on one side can stop without the other side.

For example, in order to save power or allocate more resource to communication services, a STA may want to terminate all use cases initiated by AP, and keep all the use cases initiated by itself.

This example is reasonable, because in the use cases initiated by AP, STA may only do a favour. But in the use cases initiated by STA itself, the sensing measurement and sensing result are important.

I’d like to hear your opinion on this change: “Terminate All” include two bits: terminate All NTB, terminate All TB.

Best regards,

Pei
