Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBN] Joint queue request (25/0717r2)

Hi Adachi-san and Xiaofei,

Thank you for your comments. I revised the document according to them. Please check the link below.

https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/25/11-25-0717-03-00bn-pdt-joint-abbreviations-and-acronyms.docx

I removed two terms (RSID and P2P) based on your findings. Thank you!

Regarding multi-AP-related terms, I agree with your thought, but as you pointed out, those are beyond the PDT. The PDT for clause 3.2 (25/0646, the main contributor is Xiaofei) might be an appropriate target for that.

To Xiaofei;

Could you please check your PDT and confirm the comments below from the Editor’s meeting?
--------------------------

- How do we utilize the hyphen?

(e.g. Which is better for the abbreviation of "intermediate FCS", IFCS or I-FCS?)

Ross: recommend no hyphen, so IFCS.

Also, for the following multi-AP mechanism in 11bn, the following style is recommended:

CBF

CSR

CTDMA

CRTWT

Besides, do not over use abbreviations, for example CoAP doesn’t save much compared with coordinated AP.

--------------------------

Best regards and thanks,

Akira

Hello Kishida-san,

Thank you for preparing the doc!

My findings:

  • RSID is already defined by 11az and included in 802.11-2024 (REVme).
  • For P2P, PTP is already defined for peer-to-peer.
  • I see no replacement of Co-BF to CBF, Co-RTWT to CRTWT, Co-SR to CSR, and Co-TDMA to CTDMA.

It is beyond the doc, but I am a little bit worried who will be responsible for doing the global search and replacement for the names used under multi-AP mechanism in the draft and for CR docs that are/will be adopted

Best regards,

tomo

Hi Alfred and all,

I have updated and uploaded the PDT regarding abbreviations and acronyms (11-25/0717r2) based on the comments of the editor and members, reflecting the Editor's meeting. Thank you very much, Ross, for your confirmation and efforts.

>Alfred

Could you put the following CR document for the JOINT queue (5 CIDs)?

25/0717r2              PDT JOINT Abbreviations and Acronyms            Akira Kishida (NTT)

>TGbn members

As a result of the update, some terms have been deleted from subclause 3.4 compared to the previous revision. The reasons are described in the Discussion section of the document. Please review it and provide comments if any.

Best regards,

Akira
