Hi all, I have just presented in AM2 the
doc25/2227r1 related to the NPCA feature. For 2 CIDs, offline discussion were asked. Let me give more explanations on the associated resolution. CID9353: It is related to the management of the MU EDCA mode when the STA switches from the BSS primary channel to the NPCA primary channel. And the reverse. I propose to precise that a MU EDCA Timer
is allocated for each AC. That is just a clarification for the MU EDCA mode. That’s the current behavior in the BSS primary channel. As it is already specified in the draft v1.3, the transition between EDCA mode and MU EDCA mode follows the rule on conditions
described in 26.2.7. So, it should be the same behavior and that’s the reason of the small addon “per AC”. CID9454: The CID is related to the management of the MU EDCATimer and more generally to the MU EDCA mode when the STA switches from the NPCA primary channel to the BSS primary channel. The aim is to
add some fairness between the STAs that are NPCA capable and the STAs that are not. The added text means that a STA that has successfully transmitted at least one QoS frame in SU or MU mode when operating on the NPCA primary channel, switch in MU EDCA mode
by launching the corresponding MU EDCA Timer. Today in the draft v1.3, only STAs that successfully transmitted QoS frames in MU mode must switch to the MU EDCA mode, as it occurs in the BSS primary channel. With this addon, we can guarantee the fairness and the global QoS driven by the EDCA procedure for the STA that are not NPCA capable or the STAs that does not detect the interference. Another advantage is that it gives
more chances also for other STAs that are NPCA capable to gain the medium during the NPCA period. I hope that it clarifies my resolutions. Regards Patrice To unsubscribe from the STDS-802-11-TGBN list, click the following link: https://listserv.ieee.org/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=STDS-802-11-TGBN&A=1 |
