Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBN] Roaming TTT - uploaded 26/0059r7 - queueing to run SP

HI Tomi,

Thanks for the email and bringing this up, makes sense to me.
Will work with Duncan to incorporate this.

Best,
Giovanni

Hi Giovanni,

Thank you for your work.
I’d like to follow up on CID #7293, which we discussed offline on 6 May:
This is a comment of mine (which is included in Duncan's 26/380r2 LB291 CR for SMD BSS Transition (Part 5) and I had requested to defer this CID#7293 in 26/380 on PM1 6th May):

There are some cases in which Non-AP MLD sends an ST execution request frame to the current AP but does not want a downlink draining period. For example, it may happen when the poor link quality does not support DL draining transmission at all, or when a roaming non-AP MLD has only one single link and has low latency UL transmission needs, as the DL darining transmission could block the UL transimission. In these cases, current AP could use the Nominal Maximum DL Draining Period Duration field not presented or set to 0 to indicate no DL draining period and terminate the ST procedure immediately.
Add some content that allows the current AP MLD to indicate no DL draining period after the ST execution frame.
This CID #7293 is basically about the current AP indicating no DL draining period to the non-AP MLD using the Nominal Maximum DL Draining Period Duration field set to 0. I believe that the content of CID #7293 has already been resolved in 0059r6 and is reflected in the following paragraph:
"If the non-AP MLD receives an ST execution response from the current AP MLD carrying a Nominal Maximum DL Draining Period Duration field with a value equal to 0, there is no DL draining period and the non-AP MLD MLD shall send a UHR Link Reconfiguration Notify frame to the target AP MLD with the Type field set to 2 and the DL Draining Completed field set to 1(#7494) to indicate that there is no DL draining period.(#6992)"
So, would it be appropriate to move this CID #7293 to CR 0059 and given the same resolution with tag #6992?
What do you think?

I’d appreciate your feedback.

Best regards,
Tomy Hang Yang
