[STDS-802-11-TGBN] Discussion on 25/1981r7

Thank you for preparing and updating this document. Overall, I agree with the proposed behaviors on the AP side—specifically, that a DBE AP can disable NPCA or update the NPCA primary channel along with the DBE change.

 

However, I am concerned that most comments (such as 12301, 5711,4465, 4464, 12642) have not been fully resolved. While it is agreed that the NPCA primary channel should be updated along with DBE enablement or parameter updates, the latest revision still lacks a description of how to indicate the NPCA primary channel.

 

To fully address these comments, I suggest adding a clear description of this indication mechanism.

 

Personally, I see two potential methods to achieve this within the UHR Parameters Update element that the AP transmits while enabling DBE mode or updating DBE parameters:

 

Option 1: Include a field indicating the updated NPCA primary channel (over DBE bandwidth) within the Mode Specific Parameters for DBE.

 

Option 2: Include both a Mode Specific Parameters for DBE and a Mode Specific Parameters for NPCA together,  the NPCA Primary Channel field of the  Mode Specific Parameters for NPCA indicates the updated NPCA primary channel.

 

I believe either of these methods would effectively resolve the concern. I am also open to alternative or better solutions.

Could you please defer following two SPs on my CR docs from Today’s TGbn Agenda. Some more offline work is needed to converge on these. Targeting for these to be ready for TGbn July Ad-hoc meeting and please schedule then.
