Hi Binita,
I have some comments on the proposed text changes in 26/1615r10.
The newly added text on page 8 defines the maximum operating bandwidth for DBE based on the most recently transmitted OMN/OMI/AOM signaling. However, it remains unclear what operating channel width a non-AP STA is able to receive on after DBE mode is enabled.
Given that operating channel width is defined in Clause 3.1 as "the channel width in which the STA is currently able to receive", it may be useful to clarify how the operating channel width of a DBE non-AP STA is determined when DBE mode is enabled or disabled.
Would you consider adding text along the following lines?
Upon enablement of DBE mode by a non-AP STA, the operating channel width of the non-AP STA shall be the smaller of:- the latest maximum operating bandwidth signaled by the non-AP STA; and- the DBE bandwidth.
Upon disablement of DBE mode by a non-AP STA, the operating channel width of the non-AP STA shall be the smaller of:- the latest maximum operating bandwidth signaled by the non-AP STA; and- the BSS bandwidth.
Without additional clarification, I do not think the issue raised by the comments is fully addressed.
For example, comment #16638 points out that, for a DBE non-AP STA, the draft does not explicitly specify whether enabling DBE mode automatically changes the STA's operating channel width based on the available DBE bandwidth and the STA's signaled maximum operating bandwidth, or whether the operating channel width remains unchanged until a separate update occurs.
I believe the proposed text above would remove this ambiguity and clearly define the operating channel width behavior during DBE mode transitions.
Thanks,Kiseon
