I would suggest to make thing simpler, as the following suggestion in red:

A wireless power transfer (WPT) function is defined for the AMP STA in Section 39.7 (WPT). This function relies on an AMP Energizer to enable wireless power transfer, excitation signal transmission, or both.

Thank you for your comments. In fact, what we need to do is provide a brief overview of WPT and energizer here. I will update the relevant definitions as the PDT(s) for Section 39.7 is proposed, so don't worry.   ：）

The use of "excitation signal transmission" follows the description of energizer in the PDT proposed by Ian. 

'The AMP Energizer shall support at least WPT or excitation signal transmission.'

I have CCed Ian to discuss whether this _expression_ is appropriate.

from the sentence, sounds to me, WPT "function" mean WPT and excitation signal transmission. However, I think WPT and excitation signal are two different things. 

Also, "excitation signal" seems not accurate. maybe you want to say a AMP DL PPDU with excitation field?

I agree with providing separate descriptions for different categories of AMP STA in the MAC introduction section. Given that some PDTs are still being processed, I will wait until the content of other relevant clauses, such as 39, 10, 11, and 12, become clearer before updating this part and refining the wording.

Regarding the description related to WPT, I have made revisions based on Alfred's suggestions.
