Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBP] SP request

Hi Bo and All,

After some offline discussion, please update SP1 in PHY Set #41 to the following, and add one more supporting doc (11-26/1351r0).

  • SP: Do you agree to add the following to the 11bp SFD:
    • In the AMP-SIG field in the DL AMP Type 1 and Type 4 PPDUs to non-backscatter devices and bistatic backscatter devices
      • If the Rx Device Type==1 (Active Tx device and Bistatic backscatter device), the AMP-SIG field has 2 octets and further include
        • 6-bit Length of Data Field
        • 2-bit CRC using the polynomial g(x)=x^2+x+1 and calculated based on all other bits in the AMP-SIG
      • If the Rx Device Type==0 (AMP enabled device), there is no change to the current 1-octet AMP-SIG field
Supporting doc: 11-26/1363r0, 11-26/1351r0

=============
Below is not part of the SP text, but explanations on how different device types may process AMP-SIG differently, if interested.
  • AMP enabled devices only process a 1-octet AMP-SIG (regardless of the actual size of AMP-SIG). If Rx device type==0 and BSS color matches, it moves on to decode Data; otherwise, terminate processing. The Rx behavior doesn't change.
  • Active Tx and B-BST devices only process a 2-octet AMP-SIG (regardless of the actual size of AMP-SIG). If Rx device type==1 and partial STA-ID matches its own's, continue to check CRC and use length, and further decode Data. Otherwise, if Rx device type==0, or partial STA-ID doesn't match, or CRC check failed, terminate processing.

Regards,
Alice
