Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBP] PDT Security General Update

Hi Rojan,
I see your point and I do share your concerns about the mandatory aspects of RSNA requirements. I wonder if there is an easy simple way to say that AMP uses RSNA security algorithms without coining a new word for this.

Hi Guy,

RSNA comes with lots of associated features and requirements (see 12.2.5 RSNA assumptions and constraints), most of which may not apply to AMP. I agree that AMP should use applicable RSNA features (e.g., CCMP), but my opinion is that we should evaluate whether AMP STAs can fulfil the RSNA requirements, before claiming that AMP STAs may establish an RSNA. As an example, RSN element (RSNE) is mandatory for an RSNA STA.

Hi Hui,

Added some comments; I repeat one of my comments here:

I think the general section should not go into this level of detail; this is best left to next sub-clauses. just highlight the general purpose here;. 12.14.1 General (OWE) is a very good example.

Hi All,

I have suggested some updates on PDT Security General in order to resolve TBDs in this subclause and better prepare the subsequent subclauses. Please review it at https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/26/11-26-1060-02-00bp-pdt-amp-security-general.docx.

Hi Bo,

Please queue it for PDT presentation.

Thanks,

Hui
