Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBQ] (2) [STDS-802-11-TGBQ] List of motions to be considered in the 16 December 2025 teleconference call

Hi Jonghoe,

Thank you for your comment

As discussed in the November F2F meeting, I agree to remove NOTE1 and NOTE2 since the term for Beam Establishment has already been clarified in Motion 8, which was passed

Best Regards,

Hongwon

Hi Edward and all,

Thanks for sharing the list of motions that we will conduct in the upcoming teleconference call.

I would like to share that there was a comment regarding Motion 2 during the November plenary, suggesting that NOTE 1 and NOTE 2, which describe the details of beam establishment procedure, would be better to be removed or revised in order to fully align them with Motion 8. Motion 7 introduces the beam establishment procedure that has already been passed.

In other words, I'm asking the group whether the procedure for determining  the antenna settings necessary to establish a mmWave link can be technically interpreted with a procedure for finding an optimized direction to apply analog beamforming, using Tx/Rx beam sweep to find the best Tx/Rx beam.

Two notes in Motion 2 that will be run,

NOTE 1: The beam establishment procedure means a process which finds an optimized direction to apply analog beamforming

NOTE 2: The beam establishment procedure includes Tx and/or Rx beam sweep which finds the best transmit or receive beam

In the passed Motion, Motion 8, we have the explanation of the beam establishment procedure as follows:

•At least one beam establishment procedure that allows STAs to determine the antenna settings necessary to establish a mmWave link

Regards,

Jonghoe
