[STDS-802-11-TGBQ] 回复: [STDS-802-11-TGBQ] SPs for beam training and NDP

Hi Eunsung,

Thanks your work. I have some comments for SP1 as follows.

1)     for transmit beam establishment, containing multiple sounding signal or TRN subfiles within one PPDU may raise the issue that how to configure the transmit beam for preamble part. It would probably reduce the beam detect performance.

2)     For sounding signal or TRN subfield, we had better check whether put “e.g., LTF” in the SP Now,

as we know that there may exist two different LTF types, and STF can also be used for beam measure.

Hi Qinghua,

Thanks very much for the feedback. Regarding SP2-3 (25/1535r1 Discussion on BFT Types for 11bq), I got your point. Then, how about changing the text as below?

  • Do you support to include the following into the 11bq SFD?
    • 11bq defines transmit and receive beam establishment procedures
      • For transmit beam establishment where an IMMW STA determines its own transmit antenna settings, the STA transmits sounding signals (e.g., LTF) using different transmit beam directions to its peer STA
      • For receive beam establishment where an IMMW STA determines its own receive antenna settings, the STA receives sounding signals (e.g., LTF) using different receive beam directions from its peer STA
      • The number of sounding signals contained in a PPDU used for transmit or receive beam establishment is TBD
      • Terminologies can be changed
      • Detailed procedures are TBD

I will defer SP2 (25/1914r1 PPDU for Sector Level Sweep in 11bq) and lets have a further discussion.

Best regards,

Eunsung

Hi Eunsung,

Thanks for the SPs and related contributions.  I have some comments below.  I would like to ask for deferrals of two SPs and hope to have more discussions.

SP2-3 (25/1535r1 Discussion on BFT Types for 11bq)

  • Do you support to include the following into the 11bq SFD?
    • 11bq defines transmit and receive beam establishment procedures
      • For transmit beam establishment where an IMMW STA determines its own transmit antenna settings, the STA transmits PPDUs using different transmit beam directions to its peer STA
      • For receive beam establishment where an IMMW STA determines its own receive antenna settings, the STA receives PPDUs using different receive beam directions from its peer STA
      • Terminologies can be changed
      • Detailed procedures are TBD

[QL] Suggest to defer the SP. The sounding signal for evaluating beams/sectors has not been evaluated and discussed. The sounding PPDU is just the carrier of the sounding signal(s). It is feasible that one PPDU with multiple sounding signals for multiple beams/sectors is defined for 11bq. It is desired to have more time for discussions.

SP2 (25/1914r1 PPDU for Sector Level Sweep in 11bq)

  • Do you support to include the following into the 11bq SFD?
    • The smallest bandwidth is applied to PPDUs transmitted for the beam establishment in a mmWave band

[QL] Suggest to defer the SP. The best beam/sector that is selected from 320MHz and 640MHz sounding for the same channel may be different. It would be helpful to have some evaluations showing the sector/beam selection is accurate enough using 320 MHz for 640 MHz.

Thanks,

Qinghua

Hi all,

I am supposed to run four SPs on Thursday PM1 as follows. They are from my previous contributions regarding beam training (25/1535r1) and NDP (25/1914r1). Before running them I would like to get some feedback. I would be grateful if you could review them and share your thoughts. Any comments and questions are welcome.

Best regards,

Eunsung

SP5-1 (25/1535r1 Discussion on BFT Types for 11bq)

  • Do you support to include the following into the 11bq SFD?
    • 11bq defines transmit and receive beam tracking procedures
      • For transmit beam tracking where an IMMW STA optimizes its own transmit antenna settings after beam establishment, the STA transmits a PPDU containing a transmit beam tracking field (e.g., TRN-T) to its peer STA
      • For receive beam tracking where an IMMW STA optimizes its own receive antenna settings after beam establishment, the STA receives a PPDU containing a receive beam tracking field (e.g., TRN-R) from its peer STA
      • Terminologies can be changed
      • Details for transmit and receive beam tracking fields are TBD
      • Detailed procedures are TBD

SP1 (25/1914r1 PPDU for Sector Level Sweep in 11bq)

  • Do you support to include the following into the 11bq SFD?
    • NDP like PPDU is used for the beam establishment in a mmWave band
      • This PPDU consists of STF, LTF and SIG(s) and there is no Data field
      • Other fields (e.g., additional STF and LTF, PE, TRN) are TBD
      • Details on the PPDU structure are TBD

SP2 (25/1914r1 PPDU for Sector Level Sweep in 11bq)

  • Do you support to include the following into the 11bq SFD?
    • The smallest bandwidth is applied to PPDUs transmitted for the beam establishment in a mmWave band
