Dear all, Thank you for the presentations and discussion on Tuesday. Sorry that I had to leave the meeting for another call. What was the outcome of the discussion?
Unfortunately, there was no time to bring my second comment.
I have to say that, although I liked the idea of overlaying 5 GHz and 6 GHz channels, and in particular the demo that it would work :-), in my view, one of the few reasons why people
might want to consider light communication is that it offers zero congestion, unlike RF. With 11bb, one can build a congestion-free wireless network, using the OBSS coloring concept. Reuse factor 3 or 4 should be fully enough for this, so one could use wider-than-40-MHz
bands in a large deployment what is hardly feasible in 5 and 6 GHz bands. In my point of view, it would be great
not to destroy this unique selling point of light communication, which is still feasible with 11bb, by any new channelization scheme in TGbr. This would really create problems in going into some very promising markets for LiFi, such as industrial IoT. Hope that the group can consider my argument in the overall design.
