[STDS-802-11-TGM] Compressing the extended capabilities element

--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Task Group M Technical Reflector ---

Dear members,

This is not (yet) the topic of a comment.    We have an extended capabilities element, currently with 70 allocated bits.

Most of these are zero,  representing options that have not gained traction in the market.

I’m wondering if there would be interest in creating a “compressed” version of this,   or a new bitmap encoded in a more

efficient way for new features.    What think ye?

Best Regards,

Adrian P STEPHENS
