Re: [STDS-802-11-TGM] 11mf/D1.0 CID 407

Hi, Mark,
Thanks for your proposal on CID 407 in 11-25/2311.
As I had mentioned in a prior call, I have concerns with simply deleting the normative text such as

A VHT beamformee shall set the Beamformee STS Capability subfield in the VHT Capabilities element to a value greater than or equal to 1 (2 STS).

An HE beamformee shall set the Beamformee STS ≤ 80 MHz subfield to indicate a maximum number of HE-LTF symbols of 4 or greater.

An EHT beamformee shall set the Beamformee SS (≤ 80 MHz) subfield to indicate a maximum number of spatial streams of 4 or greater.
An EHT beamformee shall set the Beamformee SS (= 160 MHz) subfield to indicate a maximum number of spatial streams of 4 or greater.
An EHT beamformee shall set the Beamformee SS (= 320 MHz) subfield to indicate a maximum number of spatial streams of 4 or greater.

While the capability fields in Claus 9 indicate the 'minimum' value, it is still very helpful to readers to be able to get information on sounding rules from the normative sections from which you are deleting the above sentences.

As a compromise, I would be open to convert the sentences such as above you are deleting into NOTEs.

Regards,
Youhan

There was a bit of confusion about the proposed changes for CID 407

in 25/2311r0.  What was going on is that for one table there are

three consecutive cells that need changing.  I've now clarified this

in the proposed changes, which in r1 will read:

Change at 1745.20, three consecutive rightmost cells (note the linebreaks before the NOTEs are to be deleted too so that the text they introduced become part of the If):

If the SU Beamformee subfield is 1:

Set to the maximum number of spatial streams described in the definition minus 1.

<remove line break and indent like previous sentence>

NOTE—The minimum value of this field is 3 when the SU Beamformee subfield is 1 (see 35.7.2 (EHT sounding protocol)).

                Otherwise, reserved.

Reserved if the SU Beamformee subfield is 0.

Thanks,
