Subject: [STDS-802-11] 11-20/0013 - Technical Report on 5G WLAN Interworking

Dear Joseph and AANI members,

I updated technical report in marked version (11-20/0013r15) based on document (11-21/1142r0).

I have an editorial comment in conclusion part (Line 25 in page 32)

"QoS management with QoS identification and profiles to guarantee QoS in terms of deterministic packet"

is reviewed to be changed into

"QoS management with QoS identification and profiles to control QoS in terms of bounded packet"

because WLAN implementation can't fully  guarantee QoS or support deterministic packet.

I think that "control" and "bounded" are more adequate words than "guarantee" and "deterministic".

Any comments and suggestions will be appreciated.

I would like to post technical report revision 15 in mentor after email discussion.

Thanks

Hyun Seo Oh

Dear All,

At the closing AANI SC meeting of the 802.11 WG July Plenary it was suggested that:

https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/20/11-20-0013-14-AANI-draft-technical-report-on-interworking-between-3gpp-5g-network-wlan.docx

is technically correct and that to complete the document the introduction and conclusion should be tailored for the target audience.

(please see  https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/21/11-21-1142-00-AANI-aani-sc-meeting-minutes-july-2021-plenary.docx)

A follow-up SP was held in the 10 August teleconference (https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/21/11-21-1429-00-AANI-aani-sc-teleconference-minutes-10-august-2021.docx) - which suggested that 3GPP is the target audience for the technical report and that the introduction and conclusion should be updated for the target audience.

To progress this work - edits were proposed and discussed during the 24 August teleconference (https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/21/11-21-1430-00-AANI-aani-sc-teleconference-minutes-24-august-2021.docx) please review and comment on  https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/21/11-21-1410-00-AANI-possible-edits-to-11-20-0013r14.docx. Contributions, comments, edits, and text proposals are requested.
