[STDS-802-11] Taiwan MODA's decision - lower 6 GHz for U-NII devices; upper 6 GHz for experimental networks

--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---
Dear 802.18 members,
cc 802.11, 802.15, 802.19 members,

Following the two consultations of Taiwan Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA) on the draft amendment of “Radio Frequency Supply Plan” and the the draft amendment of “Table of Radio Frequency Allocations of the Republic of China (Taiwan)” that IEEE 802 LMSC has contributed to, the MODA has published the following decisions on 25 August 2023 that are effective immediately.

As referred to page 60 of the table of frequency allocation, the following is added to the entry of 5925 MHz to 6700 MHz:

5925 - 6425: For use as a relay network for public correspondence
WRC-03 also resolved that it can be used for ESVs (aircraft/ship earth station)
5945 - 6425: For low-power radio frequency equipment such as low-power wireless information transmission equipment below 14 dBm and indoor low-power wireless information transmission equipment below 23 dBm under the condition that it must not interfere with legal communication and must endure legal communication interference;
Equipment that uses the above-mentioned frequency band must be equipped with interference avoidance mechanisms (e.g. LBT). However, remote-controlled drones are not allowed to use the above-mentioned frequency band.
6336 - 7920:  For use in secondary conditions with low power RF motors using Ultra Wideband Technology (UWB)

As referred to page 23 of this second publication,  6425 to 7125 is used for mobile communication, license-free low-power wireless information transmission equipment and other low-power radio frequency equipment test experimental network

Regards,
Edward
