[STDS-802-11] Colombia's consultation: Allowing flexible use of 900 MHz

--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---
Dear 802.18 participants,
cc. 802.11, 802.15, 802.19 participants,

On 3 June 2025, Colombia's National Spectrum Agency (ANE) published for comments the proposed regulatory modification to allow the flexibility of the 900 MHz band, eliminating its establishment and exclusive reservation for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT).

Of possible interest to us is:
a)  Remove 894 MHz to 905 MHz and 939 MHz to 950 MHz from Article 1.7.1 that identified frequency bands for IMT operation.
b)  Remove 905 MHz to 915 MHz and 950 MHz to 960 MHz from Article 1.7.2 as well as national note CLM21 of the Table of Frequency Allocation that identified frequency bands for future IMT operation.
c)  In Article 1.2.10, modify the use of the 896 MHz to 915 MHz and 941 MHz to 960 MHz from "adopted for mobile" to "adopted for mobile and fixed radiocommunication services".
d)  Update the Table of Frequency Allocation by removing footnote 5.317A and national note CLM21 from the row "902 MHz to 905 MHz".

For details, please visit:
https://www.ane.gov.co/SitePages/det-noticias.aspx?p=653

The consultation deadline is 1 July 2025. If you believe IEEE 802 LMSC should prepare a response, please bring a contribution to IEEE 802.18 no later than 19 June 2025 to review and consider approval.

Regards,
Edward
