IEEE 802.11 Voters,

With this email, the 802.11 Working Group is officially beginning WG Technical Letter Ballot 293 (LB293), asking the question:

"Should WG11 forward P802.11bi D4.0 to Standards Association (SA) Ballot?"

The WG motion for this WGLB was approved in the WG11 January 2026 closing plenary meeting, see https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/25/11-25-2200-01-0000-january-2026-working-group-motions.pptx.

This Letter Ballot opens today and will close 15 days later on Thursday February 5, 2026 at 23:59 Eastern Time USA (11:59pm).

All necessary documents are available in the instructions on the IEEE 802.11 web site: LB293 Instructions.

Important:

• This is a 15-day Technical letter ballot and the ballot group (i.e., those that may vote) for this ballot consists of the voters in the ballot pool.
• Please see the list of voters in this ballot pool at https://www.ieee802.org/11/LetterBallots/LB288bi/LB288_voters.xlsx.
• If you cast a "Do not approve" vote on this ballot, it must be accompanied by comments for your vote to be valid.
• You must follow these instructions to vote. Do not send an email to vote. Voting by any method other than the web-based process described here will invalidate your vote.
• Failure to follow these instructions will result in your vote being discarded as an invalid vote.
• Not voting on a letter ballot series or sending an invalid vote can affect your voting privileges.
• The draft is password protected in accordance with IEEE 802 Policies and Procedures. To obtain the draft, use the members area  username and the password supplied to active members.
