Dear 802.18 and 802.11 members,

We had a productive discussion during this week's 802.18 RR-TAG teleconference call on the technical aspects of the operation of Solid-State Weather Radars in DFS channels. I have incorporated all those suggestions/comments, along with those I received offline, and have uploaded the latest revision of the submission for your consideration: https://mentor.ieee.org/802.18/dcn/26/18-26-0055-03-0000-considerations-for-solid-state-weather-radar-operation-in-dfs-channels.pptx

We will continue further discussion on this topic during next week's 802.18 RR-TAG teleconference call held on 11th June 2026, from 9am PT/ 12pm ET. Dear 802.18 and 802.11 members,

There is a liaison statement issued to both 802.18 RR-TAG and 802.11 WG (link) pertaining to Solid-State Weather Radar operation in DFS channels. Based on my interactions with interested members and the IEEE 802.11 COEX SC Chair (Marc Emmelmann), we can continue the technical discussion on this topic and converge on a set of technical aspects that we can use as a response to the liaison statement(s).

To that end, first half of the 802.18 RR-TAG weekly teleconference calls held on 9am PT/12pm ET every Thursday (from 4th June 2026 up to 25th June 2026) will be used for discussion of this topic.
