Dear Members,
I have received a liaison from ITU-T SG20:

This liaison statement informs us of the initiation of draft new Recommendation ITU-T Y.Ambient-IoT-Fra “Framework of ambient power-enabled Internet of Things platform.”
The liaison reads:
ITU-T Study Group 20 would like to inform ISO/IEC JTC1/SC31, GS1 EPCglobal, 3GPP TSG SA, 3GPP TSG RAN and IEEE 802.11 that the draft new Recommendation ITU-T Y.Ambient-IoT-Fra “Framework of ambient power-enabled Internet of Things platform” has been initiated
at the ITU-T SG20 meeting, Geneva, 12–21 May 2026.
Draft new Recommendation ITU-T Y.Ambient-IoT-Fra specifies the framework for the ambient power-enabled IoT system, and aims to identify ambient IoT-specific capabilities in each layer of the IoT reference model.
ITU-T Study Group 20 looks forward to collaborating with ISO/IEC JTC1/SC31, GS1 EPCglobal, 3GPP TSG SA, 3GPP TSG RAN and IEEE 802.11 on these matters.
An attachment to the liaison statement is embedded in the posted Word document.
A response is not required, but I will assign this to TGbp for review.
