[STDS-802-11] Reminder regarding WG and SA ballots

--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---
Dear Members,

As a reminder...

SA ballot is not WG ballot. The ballot pool is formed outside of 802.11 and you are in the ballot pool if you expressed an interest in 802.11 and accepted the invite to participate. Participating in SA ballots on 802.11 draft standards does not have any effect on your voting status in 802.11.

A number of WG ballots will start soon:
P802.11REVmf/D3.0 (WG recirc ballot)
P802.11bn/D2.0 (WG initial ballot)
P802.11bt/D1.0 (WG initial ballot)

If you were a voting member at the time the initial ballot for P802.11REVmf started (2025-08-12), then you must participate in the ballots for that series.

If you are a voting member following the July 2026 session then you must participate in the bn and bt ballots series. The ballot pool for these is formed from the voting members at the start of the ballots.

The upcoming 11bn ballot is an initial ballot since the previous initial ballot (on D1.0 ) failed with < 75% approval. As such, it was its own ballot series of 1.

-Robert
