Overview

The IEEE 802.15 task group 4b was chartered to create a project for specific enhancements and clarifications to the IEEE 802.15.4-2003 standard, such as resolving ambiguities, reducing unnecessary complexity, increasing flexibility in security key usage, considerations for newly available frequency allocations, and others.

CURRENT STATUS

The IEEE 802.15.4-2006 standard was approved by the IEEE standards board in June of 2006. The published standard can be purchased from the IEEE store. TG4b will not have any scheduled sessions at the September IEEE interim meeting (see meeting details below)

PARTICIPATION

  • Information on TG4, its derivatives and how to get involved can be found on the TG4 Expert web site.
  • Participate by attending our Meetings. Verify below for upcoming TG4b meetings.
  • The TG4b conducts its business including major announcements on the 802.15.4b Public Mailing List <stds-802-15-4b@listserv.ieee.org>.
  • You can learn more about the 802.15 Mailing Lists by pointing your browser here.
  • The TG4b Mailing List (stds-802-15-4b@listserv.ieee.org) is converted into a member-only HTML mail archive which can be sorted by subject & date.
