[STDS-802-16] IEEE Std 802.16.1 becoming inactive

Dear IEEE 802.16 Working Group reflector,

I want to inform you that IEEE Std 802.16.1 (“WirelessMAN-Advanced Air Interface for Broadband Wireless Access Systems”), which was approved 2012-06-08, has reached its ten-year lifetime and is scheduled to be marked as "Inactive-Reserved" as of the end of this year. At that time, its amendments 802.16.1a and 802.16.1b will also become inactive. Inactive standards can be reintroduced through the revision process.

Note that IEEE Std 802.16 ("Air Interface for Broadband Wireless Access Systems”) was revised in 2017 and remains active through 2027.

Active IEEE 802 standards can be downloaded from IEEE https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/browse/standards/get-program/page/series?id=68.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers,

Roger Marks
Chair, IEEE 802.16 Working Group (in hibernation)
