The text of the changes made to these documents (approved by SASB in
2007)
can be found at:
http://standards.ieee.org/board/pro/2007changes.pdf
Please read through these changes so that you are familiar with the
current
P&P.
Change 1 - Sets minimum ballot group for entity projects at five
members.
Change 2 - States that audit fees are determined by the IEEE Operations
Audit Dept.
Change 3 - States that annual financial reports [via the L50-S Form] are
the responsibility of the Sponsor. The Sponsor shall ensure submission
of
the reports for itself and all of its subordinate standards developing
committees.
Change 4 - Allows confidentiality statements to appear on some
communications with legal counsel.
Change 5 - States that the IEEE-SA Standards Board is not a Sponsor.
Change 6 - Modifications to the appeals process.
Change 7 - Eliminates requirement for entity project chairs to be IEEE
members.
Change 8 - Adds 'threatened litigation' to be in synch with existing
procedures
Change 9 - Adds requirement for chairs to seek LoAs from Affiliates
excluded on Accepted LoAs. {The PatCom Administrator will advise chairs
when this is necessary.}
Change 10 - States that the IEEE is not responsible for determinations
of
reasonableness related to licensing agreement or to LoAs. Clean-up of
how
LoAs are handled by PatCom Administrator. Updates public notice
language.
Change 11 - Further change to public notice text to indicate that users
are
solely responsible for determining their risk of patent infringement.
Change 12 - Updated version of the stabilized standards process. [Note:
Staff is working on incorporating these changes into necessary system
changes in myProject.]
Change 13 - Notes the various states of Sponsor P&P that AudCom can
recommend to the Standards Board.
Change 14 - Requires use of IEEE concentration banking.
Change 15 - Requires that Sponsor ballot comment submission and Sponsor
responses be handled in a manner compatible with IEEE Ballting Center
tools. Also includes information related to RevCom submittals.
Change 16 - General clean-up of the language related to the adoption of
a
non-IEEE standard.
Change 17 - Sets the time from which LoAs should be sought/submitted.
If you have any questions, please contact me. [Please do NOT reply to
all
unless you want all to view your comments. Thank you.]
