Dear 802.18 participants,
cc. 802.11, 802.15, 802.19 participants,
On 10 September 2025, Canada ISED issued a notice, 2025-DRS0006, that proposes to adopt standard ETSI EN 301 893 V2.2.1 (2024-11). See:
https://ised-isde.canada.ca/site/certification-engineering-bureau/en/node/180As mentioned in the notice that I copied here for your convenience,
"Under RSS-247 – Digital Transmission Systems, Frequency Hopping Systems and Licence-Exempt Local Area Network Devices in 902-928 MHz, 2400-2483.5 MHz, 5150-5350 MHz, and 5470-5895 MHz bands, ETSI EN 301 893 is currently accepted as an alternative to KDB 905462 for Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) testing, except in the 5600-5650 MHz band, where it is the only accepted method.
ISED proposes a six-month transition period during which either ETSI EN 301 893 V1.8.1 (2015-03) or ETSI EN 301 893 V2.2.1 (2024-11) may be used to demonstrate compliance with ISED’s dynamic frequency selection (DFS) requirements. After the transition period, new certifications shall use ETSI EN 301 893 V2.2.1 (2024-11). The updated standard provides additional information for client devices with radar detection."
The comment submission deadline is 19 November 2025. If you believe IEEE 802 LMSC shall prepare a response, please prepare a contribution and bring it to IEEE 802.18 to review and consider approval no later than the opening meeting of the 802.18 November 2025 plenary (i.e., 10:30am ICT, Tuesday, 11 November 2025).
Regards,
Edward
