[802.19] South Korea's consultation: increased indoor power of some 6 GHz frequency bands for Wi-Fi

Dear 802.18 participants,
cc. 802.11, 802.15, 802.19 participants,

On 8 January 2026, South Korea MSIT began a consultation that seeks public opinions on its proposal related to various license-exempt technologies.

Of possible interest to us is related to the use of Wi-Fi in the 6 GHz band.  In particular, the admin proposes to change the existing maximum power density of 2 dBm/MHz in the 5925 MHz to 7125 MHz band for indoor operations to the following
a)  5 dBm/MHz in the 5925 MHz to 6425 MHz
b)  2 dBm/MHz in the 6425 MHz to 7125 MHz

The submission deadline is 28 January 2026.  If you would like IEEE 802 LMSC to submit a response, please kindly prepare a contribution and bring it to IEEE 802.18 to review and consider approval no later than 22 January 2026.
