Thank you for leading the effort to produce the informal communication to SFF.
As I stated yesterday in the TF meeting, I agree that the an identification mechanism in a cable will help to alleviate the concerns I have on interoperability.

Colleagues,
In our meeting yesterday, I accepted a request to produce an Informal Communication to SFF with the goal of ensuring that management entities are able to identify the type of cable (CA-S or CA-L) attached to a system. Its my opinion that this will resolve
key concerns expressed in my presentation to the Task Force regarding customer confusion and/or compatibility issues.
If you wish to participate in the generation or review of that informal communication, please contact me and I will be sure to include you in the activity.
Of course, this IC will be subject to review and consideration at our May interim, but your involvement earlier in the process will hopefully lead to consensus on its content.
